Dom Perignon Oenotheque 1995
The 1995 Dom Perignon Oenotheque is the second release of this wine, and was disgorged in 2005. This silky-textured Champagne reveals breathtaking finesse, elegance and clarity in its perfumed bouquet, with delicate notes of pears and roasted nuts that add further complexity. The finish goes on and on. This mind-bending Champagne possesses all of the qualities of profoundness, most importantly the ability to develop beautifully in the glass and the potential to acquire even more depth in bottle over the coming years. It is a stunner. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2028. Score: 96 Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate (180), December 2008. This is a fabulous release from Dom Perignons famous collection of back vintages. The nose is wonderfully complex with hints of lemon rind, quince and brioche all wrapped in a fragrant floral bouquet. The precise palate shows a youthful grapefruit and lime zestiness that gives way to a wonderful mineral character touched by white pepper and finished with a toasty lees character. This is huge step up in complexity compared with the original release of the 1995. Delicious! |
